Unfortunately, most central securities depositories (CSDs) do not offer an automated interface for dematerialising or re-materialising shares to or from the banking system, so a manual workflow is required.
Dematerialise shares:
Send dematerialisation request to your issuer agent. Include the shareholder name, shareholders' securities account number, ISIN, and number of shares.
Get the dematerialisation request approved by authorised signing persons within your company to confirm the request to your issuer agent.
Review the incoming dematerialisation order.
Confirm the incoming dematerialisation order.
Confirm or reject incoming registration requests thereafter.
Re-materialise shares:
Instruct your shareholder to contact their custodian relationship manager to request a delivery-free-of-payment ("DFP") with counterparty "Share register" and the instruction for their securities settlement system "to deliver the shares via DIDB order to the share register".
Review the incoming share de-registration order.
