Why Should I Switch to Electronic Signatures? ✍️

  • Legal security:

Qualified(!) electronic signatures have a higher legal security. For example, by Swiss law they are equivalent to a handwritten wet-ink signature (admin.ch). You can validate every signature with the Swiss governmental validation service here:
    https://www.validator.admin.ch.

  • Cost Savings:
Electronic signatures significantly reduce costs. The Swiss government estimated the cost of processing a wet-ink signature at CHF 5.80 (around USD 6.50), compared to CHF 2.40 for a qualified electronic signature.

  • Internal Efficiency:
Streamline workflows, save time, and free up personnel for higher-value tasks.

  • Environmental Benefits:
Save paper, eliminate the need for fax and printer machines, and reduce reliance on postal couriers, contributing to lower environmental impact.

How Do I Legally and Electronically Sign Documents?

  • Use a Qualified Electronic Signature:
While lower standards may suffice for some documents, a qualified electronic signature offers maximum legal security and avoids potential legal complications later.

  • Minimize Legal Risks:
The small additional cost of a qualified electronic signature is a worthwhile investment compared to the potential expenses of legal checks and disputes.
